Is Your Home Based Travel Business BBB Accredited And Does It Matter?

There are many home based travel businesses available to choose from. You probably recognize some of the larger players, including Coastal Vacations, Global Resorts Network, YTB, Platinum One Destinations, MorVacations, Traverus and World Ventures. At the time of doing a search on BBB.org there was only one home based travel business which was BBB accredited and that sole member being Platinum One Destinations. To my knowledge this is an accurate statement.

Why would you as a potential consumer or business builder even care?

With the proliferation of the number of network marketing businesses in the Travel arena it can be confusing as to which ones are a real business, which ones are licensed to resell travel and which ones are not.

By even doing a “scam” search on a company, you might just come across disgruntled customers, or those who make a living writing scam reports or worse still, the reports might not come up at all.

A 3rd party verification company, which is respected and has longevity as does the BBB is sometimes the only place to get an unbiased report on a company. They will also assist you in filing a complaint and help resolve problems. Their goal is to improve the marketplace with ethical business and advertising standards and to help protect customers. The www.bbb.org website has an Alexa ranking of 5166 at the time of writing, meaning it receives a great deal of traffic on a daily basis.

So why are these other companies not BBB accredited? That is a question I would ask myself and propose you ask one of their reps…

Is Platinum One 1 Destinations Giving Coastal Vacations a Run For It’s Money?

No doubt you have read reams on the merits of both Coastal Vacations and Platinum One Destinations and even more information with reports that the other is performing a scam operation ans should be avoided at all cost.

Why it seems that any company who is not yours can not be a viable and good alternative is really beyond me. Negative reporting rarely come ahead as has been demonstrated in the current political campaigns.

Today is Super Tuesday and in my opinion the candidates who can keep calm under pressure, stick to the issues and not revert to name calling inevitably wins in the court of public opinion.

So how is Coastal Vacations doing under the pressure of thousands of their members swinging across to P1D?

The results of a certain few, mainly in relatively high positions in Coastal has been to release YouTube videos, Press releases and articles on why P1D is such a bad choice and that all potential new members should stay clear away.

However, if you scratch away at the surface you will find some good results that have come from the competition that has been thrust infront of them.

It appears that a new member volunteer committee is being formed which will look into the quality of the member packages and how it can be improved. This is a great first step for Coastal Vacations. I would also like to see a retail only Coastal package for those who are performing B2B marketing. This actually would be easy to organize by Coastal having a different mailing address for retail customers, so being able to distinguish between members who need to have marketing information in the packages and those who do not.

I know more good will come from the competition, it always does.

In conclusion, I think P1D might be the best thing that has happened to Coastal Vacations. Both network marketing businesses have their merits and there are many like me who are promoting both Coastal and P1D. I have never felt that it was an either / or situation.

If someone would have told me 3 months ago that I would be introducing a new travel home business to my blog, I would have thought them nuts.

Goal Setting for your Coastal Vacations Business

Just like creating a map to a place you want to visit, attempting to work a home business without a plan is a date with time wasting. Here are some tips:

  1. Set Baby steps for your initial goals.
  2. Set Daily goals.
  3. Set Medium range goals
  4. Set Long term goals.
  5. Re-evaluate your medium range goals every 1-2 weeks.
  6. Work 5 days a week. Everyone needs their rest and you do not want to be burned out before you even start.
  7. Track all your results.
  8. Know where all your traffic and sales are coming from.
  9. Re-invest in your business by putting at least 15% of your profits back into your advertising.
  10. Once you are able to, outsource some of your daily repetitive tasks.

Spend 15 minutes a day on education. The biggest time waster any netpreneur takes part in, is reading emails and getting roped into purchasing the latest and greatest new program or ebook. Putting blinders on until you have reached your mid term goals will save you time, money and frustration.
